King Lear
Rhian and I went to the Theatre Royal on Friday night to see the RSC’s production of King Lear with Ian McKellen in the leading role. It was an outstanding performance with McKellen and William Gaunt, as the Earl of Gloucester, particularly impressive.
It was possible to enjoy the play from our precarious perch in the gallery though I did lose the feeling in my legs on a few occasions. Rhian struggled with the 3 hours 30 minutes running time though, she asked me to keep squeezing her hand through the second half to stop her nodding off.
